terms of service

I think there are many surprising things in the descriptions of how much demographic information marketers have about potential customers. I found it so bizarre on how they literally have boxes of everyone's information at their disposal. The ACT group really sold it for me. Those videos that they showed to the people was definitely shocking. They straight up just used information that catered to specific people and specific groups. This kind of makes me feel scared of how much information I give out on the internet, but then again, all of it was definitely my choice. In fact, I don't ever read the Terms of Service on any of the apps of social media. I think that a tactic that they use for people to agree to the terms is outright making the font small, the text long, and prone to giving people headaches by using words that are too big that people don't understand. I think it is totally a good tactic that people use, since it allows for people to be consumed in the app, instead of the legal stuff that the app comes with.

There is definitely a specific amount of information that I would give out in order to enter a contest, get a discount, get a phone, etc. Depending on different things, I would give out certain information. For a contest, I don't think it's necessary to give out more than just a name and possibly and email to be contacted. For a discount, I think that a name and email would suffice. Companies that I have associated myself with have never really asked more than that. Companies like Colourpop Cosmetics or Urban Outfitters never ask for anything more than an email to get a discount code. I think that companies that ask for more than those two things are just really ripping you off and getting information from you. I think when you are signing up for a website or company to be on the email list, I think that it's fine to ask a security question like, what is your favorite color or what was your first dog's name, are totally fine. They don't really give off too much information that is really personal. I would never give out my parents' income out to a company, simply because it isn't my place to say. Information that I would keep private would totally be my grades, medication used in my family, and medical history. I really don't think that anyone needs to know that, unless you are speaking to a college or a doctor. I feel like the government should lay off of us, because they really shouldn't know everything about us. It's not like they're doing anything to benefit us. For heck sakes, we have trump as a president. 😐😒
